I saw a tiny studio online that had the same tiles laid in the bathroom and in the kitchen for a nice visual continuation effect. It was freshly renovated, and the aforementioned shiny tiles worked so well with the polished wooden floorboards in a nice deep shade, the transparent shower stall walls, and the chrome of the bathroom appliances, plus enough light to bounce off all the surfaces.
This is the point where I haven't figured out yet how to imply shiny surfaces in sketches, so the whole thing looks quite matte.
